The Rough Draft is DONE!

I finished the rough draft of Dead at Eighteen this morning!!! I'm super excited about drawing all the strings together and closing this adventure. I absolutely love writing those two beautiful words, "The End" at the end of a months long process. Of course, the editing process hasn't even begun, but I've taken the rest of the day off and start reading what I've done tomorrow. Although I've gone back and forth in the manuscript a lot in this process, I haven't actually sat down and read it through. I'm excited at what I might find. I do know that a thousand changes are yet to be made, but I just wanted to acknowledge the significance of finishing the rough draft.

I've also reached out to my cover artist Steven Shipman and given him a heads up that a new cover is needed soon. All the parts of creating a book are so different. I appreciate them all, but I love the initial rough draft the best. Next comes my initial edit which, when finished I hand off to my editor, and she then goes through it, word, by phrase, by sentence, by paragraph which improves upon all my initial clumsy writing and creates what will become Dead at Eighteen.

I f you can't tell, I love what I do.

Later,

DAE
